The Hope Program works with some of Brooklyn's most hard-to-serve clients: 55% are without a high school diploma, 58% are former addicts and 66% are in shelters.

The Online Process
Online Application
The Brooklyn Community Foundation only accepts grant requests online. This helps streamline the process and allows us to better serve the Foundation’s constituencies in several ways:
- Consistency of Applications Means Better Information: The Foundation is accountable for its grant decisions. Collecting good information about our work is an important aspect of holding ourselves to a high standard. To help us better report on the work we do—to donors, civic leaders, nonprofit groups and others—we collect the same, detailed information from every applicant.
- Data Analysis for Better Decision Making: By applying online, our nonprofit partners help make the information collection process efficient and precise—which makes more dollars available for grant making. Information technology helps us analyze data for trends, respond to community needs, account for the funds we grant in detail, and helps us continually improve our grantmaking decisions to ensure that they are timely, responsive and effective.
- Efficient, Green and Fair: Online applications are designed to be equitable to every applicant and help keep the process moving—without ever having to send us a piece of paper.
