The lobby of the Red Hook Initiative Center teems with energy on a sunny afternoon in early September. It is the first day of school. A huddle of girls discusses the day as each fills out a time sheet, putting her name beside the title of health educator.

Capacity building grant to strengthen the internal infrastructure of key youth development organization via staff development and training, implementation of a fund raising plan and enhanced evaluation protocols. New community center is hub for residents.

Description:
Two part renewal grant: $15K to expand after care program for Pre K and K students and $5K to continue outreach to local families and businesses to encourage families to attend and support the school. BCF supports several organizations in PS 15.

Good Shepherd Services

Description:
Renewal grant to support a literacy program serving 180 children in 2nd, 3rd, & 4th grade - expansion into 4th grade - at PS 15 in Red Hook. Children from local schools attend after school program at the Beacon. School Principal works closely with Beacon.
