At the Brooklyn Community Foundation, we believe Brooklyn's strength is in its people. So we asked a few of our neighbors to share what they're thankful for in their communities and what they hope for in the coming year. This holiday season, we hope you will continue to partner with us so that we can work together to strengthen Brooklyn's communities in the coming year.

I was born and raised in Cobble Hill, and have made my career in Brooklyn, so when a friend introduced me to Brooklyn Community Foundation in 2012, it seemed like the perfect way to give back to my community. This year I helped launch the Foundation’s young professionals group, Brooklyn Now.
I feel very connected to Brooklyn. Whether I’m closing a business deal on Atlantic Avenue or playing soccer in Brooklyn Bridge Park, Brooklyn is truly my home and my office.
Brooklyn Community Foundation has opened my eyes to the communities beyond where I grew up and the hundreds of nonprofits doing game-changing work here. I’m grateful for the opportunities and support Brooklyn has afforded me and I want everyone who lives here to be able to say the same.
I co-chair Brooklyn Now because I want my friends and peers to give and get more involved with their community, too. We are building our lives here in Brooklyn—establishing careers, starting families, setting down roots—and we can make a big difference in building a better, stronger Brooklyn for all.
