Community Development Fund

Brooklyn has the oldest and largest housing stock in New York City; the highest number of public housing units in the city--and the nation--some of the highest foreclosure rates in the city and rising unemployment.

The Community Development Fund supports efforts to provide affordable housing and neighborhood stability. It encourages thoughtful planning initiatives, quality urban design and sensitivity to the historic character of our neighborhoods. It also promotes family and individual economic health through support services and effective job training programs. The Fund's goals are to:

  • Strengthen and preserve access to affordable housing in Brooklyn neighborhoods.
  • Raise individual and family income by providing Brooklyn residents access to quality job training, career placement and financial support services.
  • Build the local economy by supporting neighborhood entrepreneurs and local efforts to improve our retail corridors.

Your donation to the Community Development Fund helps make Brooklyn stronger from the ground up.
