In addition to our annual grantmaking, which supports hundreds of Brooklyn’s vital nonprofits each year, the Community Foundation takes bold steps through large initiatives to make a bigger impact on critical challenges residents face today as well as meaningful investments in Brooklyn’s future.

Recently, the Community Foundation has targeted neighborhood-wide environmental sustainability efforts through its Brooklyn Greens initiative, launched a significant philanthropic effort to improve educational and social outcomes for students in School District 16, and established a Boroughwide community service campaign and dedicated website.
