Communications Manager (She/Her/Hers)
Jameela joined the Foundation in January 2019, initially as part of both the fundraising and communications teams. She previously worked in nonprofit communications and programming at the Global Language Project. Jameela taught in the French public education system for several years as an English Lector and Adjunct Professor at the University of Bordeaux, and as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant at a high school in the Paris region. She graduated summa cum laude from Stony Brook University with a BA in Linguistics, French Language and Literature, and a minor in International Studies. She is a proud first-generation American. Jameela speaks English and French, and is studying Spanish. She lives in South Brooklyn, and enjoys photography, live shows, and taking long walks in Prospect Park.
