Events of the past year have led to a new normal of uncertainty and growing injustice for our most vulnerable neighbors. But we have also witnessed an overwhelming groundswell of Brooklynites committed to fighting for fairness and equity.

We urge you to take a moment to explore what Brooklyn’s community foundation is doing to address pressing challenges, support inspiring nonprofits, and spark lasting change for our borough.

In partnership with our generous donors, we awarded $5.5 million in grants to Brooklyn last year. The new Insights to Impact Report highlights our necessary and timely support for frontline leaders and nonprofits, through three primary funding areas:

• Our Immigrant Rights Fund is Brooklyn’s response to the growing humanitarian crisis facing nearly 1 million of our residents;
   
• Our Invest in Youth initiative empowers young people in Brooklyn to be leaders for social change while realizing their own potential;
   
• Our Spark Prize is the first award to recognize outstanding and often overlooked visionary Brooklyn nonprofits.

Together, we have accomplished so much over the past year, and maintaining this momentum relies on your philanthropic support.
