We are pleased to officially announce the addition of Mamie Kanfer Stewart and Vivian Liao Korich to our Board of Directors. Mamie and Vivian both have strong ties in the borough and are dedicated to our mission to strengthen neighborhoods and increase opportunities in Brooklyn.

“We are proud to welcome Mamie and Vivian to the Foundation’s Board of Directors,” said Brooklyn Community Foundation Chairman Alan Fishman. “They bring both their dynamic professional experience from across the business and nonprofit sectors and love of Brooklyn to our growing leadership team. We look forward to the contributions they will make as the Foundation expands our work to support local communities.”

Mamie is an executive coach and Founder of Meeteor, a firm focused on building healthy, high performing teams with a special emphasis on productive meetings. She is the author of Momentum: Creating Effective, Engaging and Enjoyable Meetings and host of The Modern Manager podcast. Prior to founding Meeteor, Mamie consulted with non-profit organizations on staffing and strategic planning.

“Brooklyn Community Foundation is the heart of our borough. They identify real challenges, engage the community, and use a variety of approaches to help meet the needs of Brooklynites,” said Mamie. “I'm honored and excited to join the incredible people already working to make Brooklyn a borough in which all people flourish.”

Vivian is principal and co-founder of Totem, a real estate and urban design firm based in Brooklyn. She served as Chief of Staff and Managing Director of Programs + Partnerships at the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, a nonprofit local development corporation where she created and implemented the narrative strategy positioning Downtown Brooklyn as one of the most vibrant downtowns in the nation. Vivian previously served as Vice President at the New York City Economic Development, and worked as a journalist at NY1 News, where she helped produce the top-rated political broadcast Inside City Hall.

“Intentional, innovative, and inspiring are the first words that come to mind when I think about the work Brooklyn Community Foundation is doing to create a more just and equitable place for all who call this dynamic borough home,” said Vivian. “I am incredibly honored to join this community answering the charge to love and serve our neighbors.”
