Welcoming Susannah Taylor to Our Board of Directors
We are pleased to officially announce the addition of Susannah Taylor to our Board of Directors, effective Friday, June 7, 2019.
“We proudly welcome Susannah to the Foundation’s Board of Directors,” said Brooklyn Community Foundation Chairman Alan Fishman. “Her extensive experience in finance and nonprofit management coupled with her dedication to Brooklyn make Susannah an excellent addition to our executive leadership team. We look forward to her involvement as the Foundation continues to grow its impact on the borough.”
Susannah is Chief Operating Officer and Director of Development at READ 718, a literacy nonprofit in Brooklyn. Prior to joining the staff of READ 718, she was a founding board member there, serving on the board from 2015 until 2018. Before joining READ 718, Susannah was Director of Finance at Malia Mills, a fashion company headquartered in Brooklyn, and spent 10 years working at Goldman Sachs in investment banking.
“Organizations focused on issues of access, opportunity, and racial and social justice are engaged in critical work in this country and in the borough of Brooklyn,” said Susannah. “Brooklyn Community Foundation is partnering with and supporting local Brooklyn organizations at the forefront of this work, and I am honored and proud to stand alongside the staff and board of the Foundation in fighting for a fair and just Brooklyn.”
Susannah graduated from Princeton University with a BA in English Literature. Raised in Memphis, Tennessee, she moved to Manhattan in 1990 and to Brooklyn in 2002, where she lives in Park Slope with her husband and three daughters.
