$3M for Brooklyn's Most Vulnerable: THANK YOU

Thank you.

In the eye of the storm—in one of the hardest hit communities in the world—Brooklyn neighbors are uniting to take care of each other.

We are pleased to announce that, thanks to an outpouring of donations to the Brooklyn COVID-19 Response Fund, we have surpassed $3,000,000 from 1200+ givers!

Your generosity is powering a grassroots, community-led response—with 136 frontline organizations funded to date.

While so much is being done to help our neighbors in need right now, we know that the impact of this crisis will be long-lasting. Please give today, or pledge a monthly recurring donation, to continue our critical response.

“Brooklyn Community Foundation’s partnership and initiatives exemplify the New York spirit of determination, inclusivity, and generosity.” - HousingPlus

This week, 15 more organizations are getting a critical boost thanks to your generosity. Here are a few highlights:

  • Refoundry’s Mask Makers Project, which provides formerly incarcerated people with the tools and supplies to sew fabric masks for distribution at Rikers Island.

  • Jews for Racial and Economic Justice’s Mutual Aid NYC, a hotline to connect vulnerable residents in communities of color with limited technology access to volunteers delivering groceries and prescriptions.

  • Release Aging People in Prison’s advocacy for the release of older adults in prison, who are at greater risk of contracting COVID-19.

  • El Puente’s distribution of emergency food and financial aid to undocumented and food insecure immigrant families in Southside Williamsburg and Bushwick.
