A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a charitable giving account that the Foundation manages for you. Creating a DAF is easy and has many advantages:

• You can open a fund with a donation of cash, stock, real estate, and more
• You'll receive an immediate tax deduction with one receipt

Donating appreciated stock to create a DAF can offset capital gains taxes, allowing you to give even more at a time when nonprofits are struggling to meet unprecedented community needs. 

Brooklyn Community Foundation handles all fund administration: you decide when and where to recommend grants from your DAF and we handle the rest. We conduct due diligence, generate the grant letter, and send the check directly to the nonprofit of your choice.
