2800+ Donors (400 more than last year!)

95 Nonprofits Supported (the most ever!)

Thanks to everyone who made our #BrooklynGives on Giving Tuesday campaign the most successful yet!

Donations for local nonprofits have been streaming in at BrooklynGives.org since the campaign's start on November 10th, culminating with a 24-hour celebration of generosity on Giving Tuesday December 1st.

So far, more than 2,800 donors have contributed over $625,000 to 95 organizations. Donations will be accepted through December 31st, so there's still time to give if you haven't yet!

Occuring in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and the national movement for racial justice, this year's campaign focused on the importance of supporting grassroots organizations led by Black, Indigenous, and other people of color. More than $10,000 in sponsored prizes provided additional support to the following participating nonprofits:

  • Song Law Good Neighbor $1000 Prize: The Billie Holiday Theatre
  • Brooklyn Community Foundation Jumpstart $1000 Prize: Brooklyn Rescue Mission Urban Harvest Center Inc.
  • Santander Early Riser $500 Prize - Little Sun People, Inc.

Launched in 2016 to drive awareness and support for grassroots nonprofits dedicated to racial justice, #BrooklynGives encourages Brooklynites everywhere to “Give Where You Live” on Giving Tuesday and throughout the year. To date, the campaign has raised over $2.5 million for local nonprofits.

Special thanks to our #BrooklynGives sponsors who made this year's campaign possible: Kirkland & Ellis, Cleary Gottlieb, Take-Two Interactive, Santander Bank, National Grid, Song Law, and the Brooklyn Community Foundation Board of Directors.
