"When we look at [vaccine] mandates, we have to put a lens of how does this impact different demographic groups — racially, gender, income, type of work, neighborhood — right, we have to have a more nuanced assessment of how we’re rolling out public health interventions.

And at Brooklyn Community Foundation, we work with a network of nonprofit organizations throughout the borough of Brooklyn here in New York City, where they’re taking all sorts of different approaches to engaging with community members, to understand what are those barriers, empathize with whatever the source of that hesitation is."
