Thank You for a Spectacular Spark Breakfast!
Thank you to all who attended our 2023 Spark Breakfast! We hope you left inspired and energized to do even more good for Brooklyn by pressing for change, investing in local leaders, and putting ideas into action.
More than 350 guests gathered at the Brooklyn Museum for the incredible celebration, which featured moving remarks from our five winners — Arab-American Family Support Center, Kings Against Violence Initiative, Mixteca Organization, STEM From Dance, and Workers Justice Project — and powerful words from our honoree Jennifer Jones Austin.
Thank you for being part of our Brooklyn community! As our President and CEO Dr. Jocelynne Rainey shared in her opening:
“The Spark Breakfast and the Spark Prize are built on Brooklyn Community Foundation’s understanding that change starts here. It’s in this room. It’s on our street corners. It’s in our schools and senior centers. Brooklyn is where change happens. Brooklyn is where big ideas are born...And this innovation is produced and preserved by nonprofit organizations. Nonprofits are the lifeblood of Brooklyn and the lifelines of our neighborhoods.” |
We would like to extend a special thanks to our Brilliant Sponsors Cleary Gottlieb, Kirkland & Ellis and Santander Bank, our Ignite Sponsors Debevoise & Plimpton, National Grid, S&P Global, and Sweet’N Low, our Board and staff, our Spark Prize Committee, and all who generously supported the event!
If you could not attend, please consider making a donation to advance the work of exceptional nonprofits across our borough.
Your support helps us spark change across Brooklyn!
