Brooklyn Community Foundation is pleased to share that our team has grown to include a number of new staff members across departments in recent months. Our expanded staff will allow us to advance our operations and help us steward the incredible generosity of our supporters:
- Rodlyn-mae Banting, Communications Associate (She/Her/Hers)
Rodlyn joined the Foundation in March. She has previously worked in journalism, nonprofit, and university spaces. Prior to moving to Flatbush she lived in Madison, Wisconsin, where she pursued a master’s degree in Gender & Women’s Studies and taught introductory GWS courses. Continue Reading
- Jilian Cahan Gersten, Vice President of Philanthropic Initiatives (She/Her/Hers)
Jilian joined the Foundation in June. A life-long New Yorker and dedicated culture worker, she was most recently Development & External Affairs Director and Interim Executive Director at Brooklyn Arts Council, where she worked since 2017. Continue Reading
- Janine Gibbs, Staff Accountant (She/Her/Hers)
Janine joined the Foundation in April. She is a native New Yorker. Prior to joining Brooklyn Community Foundation, Janine worked for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research as a junior accountant. Continue Reading
- Alison Gore, Donor Services Associate (She/Her/Hers)
Alison joined the Foundation in April. Prior to joining the Foundation, she was the associate editor and grants manager at Restless Books, an independent nonprofit publisher of international literature based in Brooklyn. Continue Reading
- Marlon Myers, IT Manager (He/Him/His)
Marlon joined the Foundation in April. He is a graduate of New York City College of Technology, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering Technology, and his associate degree in Electromechanical Engineering Technology. Continue Reading
